11-13-15 wundermap L.A. Dry High pressure
This is what weathercasters call dry High pressure because of surrounding regional wind movement, but the ‘Santa Ana’ map below shows how L.A. Basin is NOT in the corridors of strong NE winds except night land breezes, and once in awhile.
Winds are supposed to be named from their source, and calling all winds “beach winds” (“shore”) just makes the majority who do not go to the beach tune out.
