… OFFSHORE WINDS EXPECTED TO BRING HOT TEMPERATURES TO SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY…AN UPPER LEVEL HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL BEGIN TO BUILD OFF THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA COAST ON TUESDAY… THEN STRENGTHEN OVER THE REGION WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY. THIS IN COMBINATION WITH OFFSHORE FLOW DEVELOPING NEAR THE SURFACE WILL BRING A RETURN OF HOT TEMPERATURES TO SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA.

WEAK TO MODERATE OFFSHORE WINDS ARE EXPECTED BELOW THE NORTHEAST FACING PASSES AND CANYONS OF LOS ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTIES… WITH WIND GUSTS GENERALLY IN THE 30 TO 35 MPH RANGE IN THE VALLEYS AND AROUND 40 MPH IN THE MOUNTAINS. IN ADDITION… OFFSHORE WIND GUSTS UP TO AROUND 35 MPH ARE ALSO EXPECTED ACROSS THE CENTRAL COAST.

THE OFFSHORE WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO BRING HOT TEMPERATURES TO MUCH OF SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY.  ONLY COOLER BEACH LOCATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN IN THE 80S…

THE COMBINATION OF OFFSHORE WINDS… HOT TEMPERATURES… AND LOWERING HUMIDITIES WILL BRING HEIGHTENED FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS TO THE REGION. HOWEVER… IT IS NOT ANTICIPATED THAT CRITICAL RED FLAG CONDITIONS WILL BE MET WITH THIS OFFSHORE EVENT.
